For healthcare estates & facilities teams

Keep estates knowledge available when people change.

A working hospital depends on people who know where the plant is and which information to trust. Scope a browser-based environment for familiarisation and record retrieval, built around one part of your estate.

A proposed sector pilot, scoped around your information and reviewers.

Illustrative estates knowledge journey

Locate the plant Building, plant room and asset context
Find the relevant information Selected O&M and handover records
Review with the estates team Check sources and capture local knowledge

For estates information and familiarisation; no patient information is needed.

Local knowledge is essential. It should be easier to share.

01 / The task

Prepare new team members

Repeated plant-room tours depend on the availability of experienced estates staff.

Our approach: Create reusable familiarisation around a selected building area and its plant.

02 / The task

Find the right record

Older drawings and newer handovers can describe the same plant differently.

Our approach: Link the agreed assets to reviewed source records and flag mismatches for resolution.

03 / The task

Support handover discussion

A new wing or refurbished area changes what the estates team needs to know.

Our approach: Review model context with the people receiving the asset and record the questions that remain.

Start with one plant area and one team task.

Inputs

What we review together

A representative model or suitable drawings, selected asset and O&M records, an estates reviewer and a small group of staff to test the task.

Deliverables

What the pilot produces

A browser-based familiarisation example with selected plant records, a documented review of source gaps and a summary of the task trial.

Measures

How we judge usefulness

Time to locate specified plant and the correct record, help needed from senior staff, and questions that the source information cannot answer.

The pilot supports estates familiarisation. It does not authorise access, approve isolations or replace permits, clinical risk controls or the work of authorised and competent people.

Timing, cost, approved hosting, access controls, review responsibilities and ongoing updates are agreed after the source review. No project files are needed for the first conversation.

Questions to settle before starting

Will the model show live system status?

This proposed pilot uses selected source records and spatial context. Live telemetry, operational status and integration with estates systems would need a separately defined implementation.

How do we manage information sensitivity?

Start with a conversation about scope. Hosting, access, data handling and the suitability of each source must be agreed with your organisation before project data is shared. Patient information is not needed for this use case.

Have you demonstrated this workflow in our sector?

The public worked example on this site is a data-centre demonstration. The sector workflow described here is a proposed pilot. We will discuss relevant project experience, the evidence you need and the limits of the scope before any commitment.

What does your team need to know?

Tell us a little about your site. We’ll discuss the problem, the information you have and whether a focused pilot would help.
